Northpole held its first ever blood drive on July 5, 2018 to benefit the American Red Cross. We had serveral members volunteer to help with set up, clean up and just participate throughout the day. We had well over 30 people pass through the doors! Thanks to everyone who participated in some way!
On June 4, 2018, President Sherbino swore in three new members. From Left to right, please welcome Erin Parks, Rachael Coon and Zach Hickok.
Northpole held its annual Recruit NY Open House on Saturday, April 28, 2018 in an effort to enlist new members. Several hundred people came through our doors and we did receive one new application for membership! Several firefighters were on hand to provide tours of the fire station, apparatus and to demonstrate auto extrication equipment by cutting up a vehicle.
The Open House was held in conjunction with a chicken barbeque to draw people in. All proceeds of the chicken barbeque went to local K-9 Officers that serve our community from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Watertown City Police and the New York State Police. 315 chicken dinners were sold and each of the three agencies will receive over $1,500.
Thanks to all the firefighters and volunteers who made the day enjoyable and successful!

On February 3, 2018, Northpole held our annual, required OSHA training. We had 73 firefighters from 11 different departments (Northpole, Pamelia, Calcium, Town of Watertown, Deferiet, Copenhagen, Belleville, Adams Center, Fishers Landing, LaFargeville, and Felts Mills). Topics covered included Bloodborne Pathogens, Respiratory Protection/SCBA, the new Cancer Bill, Right to Know, Workplace Violence, Fire Extinguishers, Traffic Incident Management and Hazmat. Special thanks to the instructors: Janelle Bova, Joey Bova, Bob Seeber, Leon VanWie, and Scott Alexander!
It takes a tremendous amount of work to put on a day like this. Therefore, props to Calcium Fire for providing the donuts for breakfast and to Northpole for providing the lunch. Thanks to Carl Herman, Paul Fitzgerald and Jim Mullis for setting up the Bingo Hall. Thanks to JR Faulk for spending the entire day running the mask fit test machine where we were able to complete 35 fit tests for interior firefighters. Finally, special thanks to each participant for giving up a snowy Saturday to complete this important training and to network with each other.
